The Minima network is evolving, and native Minima is at the heart of its decentralized future. By converting your Wrapped Minima (WMINIMA) to native Minima (MINIMA), you benefit from the full potential of the ecosystem - enhancing utility, driving demand, and contributing to a stronger, more sustainable network.

As WMINIMA is converted, it is permanently removed from circulation, reducing supply and reinforcing the value of native Minima within the ecosystem.

WMINIMA (ERC-20) will be converted to native Minima 1 for 1.

How to convert your Wrapped Minima (ERC-20) to Native Minima:

To convert WMINIMA to MINIMA, you will need:

  • An Ethereum web wallet holding your WMINIMA and some ETH for gas fees
    Exchange users: If your WMINIMA is being held on an exchange, you will need to move it to one of the following Ethereum wallets: Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow or WalletConnect for a wider selection.
  • A Minima wallet to receive your MINIMA
    Running your own Minima node Running your own Minima node is the best way to participate fully, but if that is not an option, you can generate a non-custodial Minima wallet using the Minima Web Wallet

Once both wallets are ready, complete the conversion process:

  • Connect your Ethereum wallet containing your WMINIMA (ERC-20)
  • Enter the MAX amount of WMINIMA to send
  • Enter your native Minima wallet address
  • Approve the contract - this will require ETH for gas
  • Sign the transaction - this will require ETH for gas

All done! Now wait for your native Minima payment to be processed. This can take up to 2 hours.

  • Why do I need to convert my wrapped Minima (WMINIMA) to native Minima?

    Wrapped Minima (ERC-20 token) was created as an interim solution. Native Minima is the underlying asset of the Minima blockchain and is the utility token for the chain. All converted wrapped Minima will be burned, reducing the circulating supply.

  • How can I get a native Minima wallet?

    There are 3 options for getting a native Minima wallet

    • Run a Minima node - we recommend running your own node to access all the dapps that Minima has to offer. You can run a node on Android, Mac, Windows, Linux or Docker with minimal system requirements. Setting up your full node is straight forward. Once set up you will get access to a decentralized ecoystem of MiniDapps and become a Minima block producer, contributing to the security of the blockchain.
    • Web wallet - generate a non-custodial Minima wallet using the Web wallet. You will create a secret key to login to your wallet that supports holding, sending and receiving native Minima. The Web wallet does not give you access to the decentralized ecosystem of MiniDapps and is best suited for people who cannot run a node.
    • Centralized exchanges - native Minima is listed on MEXC and BitMart.
  • When will I receive the native Minima?

    Payments will be processed in batches, please allow a couple of hours for your payment to complete.

  • What can I do with native Minima?

    Native Minima is the underlying asset of the Minima blockchain, it can be used within the decentralized apps (MiniDapps) that are available to node runners.

  • Is there a deadline to convert my WMINIMA into native Minima?

    We recommend converting your wrapped to native Minima as early as possible, however there is currently no deadline for doing so.
